Shirley Margrie

I am a dedicated amateur artist, 69 years of age.

 

Born in the Midlands, married to Ray for 49 years. We have two sons and two grand children.

 

I have lived for 39 years now in Churchdown Village Gloucestershire.

 

I became a member of the Wednesday evening Art Group in Churchdown in 1970.

Eventually I became a committee member, also a vice chairperson in recent times.

 

Along the way I also became a mature student at Gloscat for a year, studying art.

 

Regularly I exhibit paintings at Churchdown Community Centre, through the Art Group and the Cheltenham Open Air Exhibition every July.

 

Happy to say I have sold quite a lot of my paintings in various subjects and the media over the years.

 

Pleased to report I also had a Water Colour of Primroses chosen to appear in the Leisure Painter Magazine.

 

My other hobby is indoor bowling now but had 29 years outdoor flat green bowling. During that time I was ladies captain for the Churchdown Bowling Club.

 

Yes, I guess I have always enjoyed a challenge, be it Bowling or of course ArtWork.
