Hello Viewer,

As you may be aware that we are planning to write a book about Clapham and its people of pre demolition days of the 1950’s.

We plan to produce a hardback book of about 250 pages of text and photographs of the people and places with some history of the area over the last 100 -150 years or so.

Working copy of the proposed front cover of the book showing Suffolk St. with the Magnet on the left and looking down towards Sweetbriar St.

Any ex-Claphamite is invited to write a short story for inclusion in the book and send us copies of any photos that you can of Clapham and/or of yourself and family.

We are looking for information or photos of Johnny Stephens Jam and Pickle factory in Skinner St. Can anyone help?

Please submit any stories that you have to Fran Polson at the above address. Do not be worried about any spelling mistakes etc.

The book will be costing us £5,000 to print 500 copies initially and if you would like to give a small donation towards the cost of the printing then we would be extremely grateful.

Sincerely,

Bernard ‘Dinky’ Polson.
